County Motor Sports, Inc regular board of directors meeting President Greg Kirkwood called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. with guests Jim Hasbrouck, Kari Carnahan, Tom Miller, and Burt and April Peignuex, and members Kirkwood, Jamie Ulrich, Floyd and Sharon Kindle, Don Snell, Denny Overcast, John Carnahan, Dan Olson, and Rick Starkey. Sharon Kindle moved to accept the minutes of August 14, 2008 as written with a second from Denny Overcast and motion adopted. Treasurer Jamie Ulrich gave the treasurer’s report and John Carnahan moved to approve with a second from Sharon Kindle and motion adopted. John Carnahan moved to pay the outstanding bills with a second by April Peignuex and motion adopted. Old business: No information was available from Rick Starkey on the Racer’s Edge magazine John Carnahan did the interview for the Great Falls Tribune following our Big Dollar Race September 6 & 7, 2008. Kari Carnahan will order a new FM antenna this winter to replace the one used at present. There was positive feedback from racers on the past race. Denny and Colleen Overcast will gather information on the EMT and fireman training to be held this winter. Overcast will visit with IHRA when they are here for the sanctioning. New business: The Shriners parade is October 4, 2008 and it was decided to have racecars on trailers and take part in the parade. April Peignuex would like to be able to upload pictures on the website. She is also interested in getting videos in place on site. Dinner and auction line-up: Set up at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 19; set up auction and door prize items. Kristi Arnold and Carol Brown will handle the silent auction viewing and bidding beginning at 4 p.m. Check with Greg Keilb on sound system and MC; if not, contact Dan Nissen for MC and Rustad for sound system. Tom Miller will arrange the Ruger rifle drawing with the deck of cards. Wendy Miller will be in charge of the 50/50 at the dinner. A total of 60 items will be auctioned; the rest will be silent auction and door prizes. Need someone to sell dinner and raffle tickets at the door. Let us know if you are interested in assisting with these jobs. April Peignuex volunteered to gather auction items for the 2009 dinner/auction. Sharon Kindle will email list to date of auction/door prize items to April Peignuex. John and Jamie will try to do the “What’s Happening” on KMMR this Friday, September 12. Phil Gingrich, IHRA will contact PCMS on the sanction date in October. Some officials will be up to check the track and visit with the workers. IHRA will put on a race in the 2009 season at the Hi-Line Drag strip. The track will remain a 1/8-mile. Don Snell moved to have policy that at children 12 and under be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times at the Hi-Line Drag strip. Dan Olson seconded and motion adopted. John Carnahan stated he has been in contact with Mark Holman and Dennis Bebee on moving the warming house. Dan Anderson will finish putting on the tin on the timing tower with assistance from the rest of the workers. Wendy Miller and Kylie Starkey will handle the time slips on Sunday and need someone on Saturday. Also need garbage detail both days as Stewart’s are out of town. One more person is needed for the main gate both days. The remaining 23 posts on the north guardrail will be put in and the rail installed on Sunday. Mark Holman will drill the holes and Jim Knudsen’s power tamper will be used. Come out and enjoy the day with us. Dan Olson and Rick Starkey have been working on the “win” light on the track and it will be installed for the 2009 season. There being no further business to come before the board, the meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
