The First State Bank of Malta

News Release                                            April 8, 2008

Contact: Greg Kirkwood                           406-654-1132

Phillips County Motor Sports newly elected director, Denny Overcast and race enthusiast Don Wilkins are hosting a meeting Thursday, April 17, 2008, at the Chinook Motor Inn beginning with a no-host dinner at 6 p.m. with an informational meeting to follow.

Overcast and Wilkins, supporters of the Hi-Line Drag Strip, 1320 Power Lane, south of Malta, attended the race events in Malta during the past year. Both have been instrumental in gaining support in the Blaine County area for assistance with track construction and encouraging dragsters to check out the track.

The first race of the season, June 8, is preceded by the annual First State Bank Car show  on June 7, and will feature the North West Alcohol Fuel Funny Cars along with Outlaw and Bracket racing beginning with time trials at 9 a.m. Twenty dollars gets your vehicle in the gate for a fun filled day of racing.

Other races scheduled are July 19 & 20; August 23 & 24; September 6 & 7; and September 20 & 21. These will be Outlaw on Saturday and Bracket on Sunday.

Spectator fee is $5 for each day of racing which also features a full spectrum of concessions on the grounds. Grandstand seating capacity is 1,100 with ample spectator parking. Motor homes are welcome and handicapped parking is available.

Overcast urges all racing enthusiasts to attend this informational meeting, meet other dragsters, the directors and officers of the corporation to learn more about the track and operations.

The sanctioning by International Hot Rod Association will take place this season. The annual dinner and auction is set for September 20 at the Malta City Hall, beginning with a no-host waterhole at 6 p.m. with dinner and auction to follow .

Wilkins and Overcast encourage anyone to check out the website at www.pcmotorsports.org for more information. Coming soon on the site is a “for sale” section for those wishing to sell parts for dragsters or posting a “want” item.
