Bebee moved to accept the minutes from the February meeting as written
with a second by John Carnahan and motion adopted

Kirkwood gave the treasurer’s report (info provided by secretary’s
files from March as new treasurer was not able to attend)

Snell moved to pay the outstanding bills with a second by Dan Olson and
motion adopted.
Old
business:
Need
wording for the Flatlanders Car Club for sponsor signs on picnic
tables-Flat Landers purchased a concrete sign to be placed on the
spectator side not a table sponsorship.
Kirkwood
Funeral Home will donate the granite form for the Holman memorial.
The
handrails on bleachers are constructed and will be painted and put in
place. There was no discussion remaining on fence to be erected for IHRA
requirements.
John
Carnahan will continue to work with Scott Robinson on concrete signs for
words needed.
Dan
Olson & Don Renner on concrete signs-words needed: info was completed.
Bebee
Southside Storage on concrete signs-words needed: info was competed.
All
school reunion dates are July 10-12 when the port-a-potties are needed.
Dan
Anderson will complete the tower for PCMS.
Four
scholarship applications have been received to date and will be acted
upon.
New
business:
NHRA
fee increases:
Kirkwood
informed the group of the increase in the NHRA fees.
Work
days at the track-Carnahan & Bebee: an email alert will be sent out as
well as notices in the Phillips County News and on KMMR if timeline
allows. The remaining section of the “warming house” was moved and set
in place on Sunday. Two hundred feet of
pavement on each runway has been scored and will be excavated for
the concrete.
2009
Nat’l. Speedway Directory will be soon available at $10 ea or less in
bulk.
John
Carnahan explained the fee structure for joining the IHRA and insurance
provided and several people signed up.
Denny
Overcast would like to know of anyone interested in getting certified for
“tech” as books will be needed to be read and an open book test will
be given.
John
Carnahan mentioned PCMS is looking for sponsors for the entrance board
which will be placed at the track.
PCMS
is also looking for trophy sponsors for the Super Pro, Pro (provided by
Fine Line Auto; and Jr. Dragsters, provided by Neil Stahls.
Side
note: Jim Sandness stated the Malta Centennial Committee will sponsor
trophies with their info on them.
Also,
the Malta Centennial Committee donated $1,000 towards the North West Funny
Cars for June 7.
Bob
Stormer asked about possible backup for the timing system and Carnahan
stated we do have word out from Sherrie Barbour to other tracks that we
are “looking” for a different system than the Port-A-Tree.
There
being no further business to come before the board the meeting was
adjourned at 8:45 p.m. The next regular meeting will be May 21,
Thursday at Stretch’s. Attendees are encouraged to come early and
have a meal prior to the 7 p.m. meeting.
