Phillips County Motorsports, Inc. held their regular
meeting Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Stretch’s Pizza in Malta at 7 p.m.
President Kirkwood announced PCMS had purchased 4000’
of guardrail to insure sanction by the International Hot Rod Association in
2008. Omo Construction of Billings had 2500’ and the remainder will come from
the Dodson overpass construction site.
Grants have been submitted to CMC-TTC for a cell phone
package for one year, website sponsorship, sign sponsorship at the track, and
used office equipment.
PCMS will begin giving out scholarships to 2008 high
school graduates for the 2007-2008 academic year for $500.00 each. It was
decided to give four and offer to 28 different schools in the areas where the
race drivers are located which support the track. This will be posted on the
website shortly.
Sunday, June 8, is the first race with race dates for
the season being set by mid-February after President Kirkwood attends a meeting
in Lewistown.
Packets are being handed out or mailed to PCMS members
and supporters in an effort to sell vinyl signs to sponsors. Signs are made by
Eclectic by Design in Malta and will be sold in a 4’x8’ ($500 per yr), 4’x4’
($300 per yr), and 2’x4’($250 size offering two colors for the banner.
Businesses and or individuals may join together to purchase signs. Signs will
be displayed during the race season and stored off-season. Metal 3’xl’, signs
for concrete sponsorship, in black or white lettering, no logo, on green
background, are $300 which pays for a 10’x12’ section of concrete. This is not
an annual fee. Multiple signs may be purchased by an individual or business.

PCMS offers a laminated photo ID for lifetime members,
which is their pass into all races. If you are a lifetime member and have not
been contacted to have a picture taken or asked to send one or email one,
please contact Greg Kirkwood at 654-2430 ASAP.
PCMS will announce the March annual meeting date once
a speaker has been secured. The bylaws call for mid-March. Officers are up for
election and Directors John Carnahan, Dan Stout and Leroy Dyrdahl are up for
re-election if interested in serving another term.
PCMS will erect a wooden sign at the south end of the
tree rows at the track with Hi-Line Dragstrip, the web address, local contact

PCMS will obtain two credit cards through a local
bank, for use by the treasurer and secretary.
PCMS voted to give two $250 lifetime memberships to
the KMMR radio auction, Malta, for which we will receive credit for ads.
President Kirkwood will place bids on Adam’s Asphalt
and Malta Ready Mix items on the KMMR radio auction.
The next regular meeting will be Thursday, February 21
at the Malta City Fire Hall (back room) at 7 p.m. for this time only as
Stretch’s Pizza is busy with tournaments.
