            Phillips County Motorsports, Inc. (PCMS) president Greg Kirkwood announced four $500.00 scholarships would again be awarded to seniors graduating in 2010. Counties include Hill, Blaine, Phillips, Valley, McCone, Richland, Roosevelt and Daniels. Track Manager John Carnahan informed the members those were the counties who came forth the support the track in their opening year of racing in 2006. 

            The mission statement of PCMS states its business and purpose of the corporation shall work for the promotion of economic development, tourism and scholarships.

            The emphasis will be on automobile related training preferably at trade and vocational schools but those attending an accredited college may apply. Kirkwood stated, “this is geared towards the student who may not have the high grades, but have a desire and will to further his education in the auto related field.”

            Students have until April 15, 2009 to return the forms which have been sent to the schools. Questions may be directed to Greg Kirkwood at the above number.
